The One Sixth Sense is a clinical sensorial skincare brand founded by Krishna Vilas and Desha Yadav, formulated for Indian skin in Indian conditions. BBT partnered from the first conversation, before the range existed, and the engagement now runs through to growth marketing.

Indian D2C skincare is the most crowded shelf in the country and the noisiest. New actives every week, routines going viral, transformation promised on almost every label. Entering that market with another promise of faster results would have been the same as not entering it at all.

Skin health, not skincare  ·
In the room first

What the shelf taught us.

01

Before a formulation was locked

Brand vision, category position and the founding proposition, worked out in the room with the founders. The argument and the formula had to be decided against each other.

02

What the range has to do

Product conversations across cleanse, moisturise, treat and protect, and the claims the brand would refuse to make.

03

Nature, science, intuition

Name, logo, palette, typography, packaging and a guideline system built to hold a growing range. Nothing in the mark is decoration.

04

Into the noisiest shelf in India

Photography, brand film, D2C website and launch, with growth marketing continuing from there. A brand that sells patience has to be marketed patiently.

(05) What changed

A launch is not yet a result. Here is what is actually built.

A position, not a product lineThe brand argues skin health over surface results, which gives it something to say every time the next active goes viral.
One system, end to endName, identity, packaging, photography, film and website all shipped from a single guideline rather than assembled per channel.
The argument went firstThe brand entered the conversation leading with its view of the category rather than with an ingredient list.
